Modern pool and house — Turner Custom Pools craftsmanship

Why Turner

Why Homeowners in Seguin Choose Turner Custom Pools

There are a lot of pool builders in the Texas Hill Country. Some are big and well-funded. Some are local operators doing fine work but without the infrastructure to scale reliably. A few are in the middle. I'll tell you straight why Turner is the right choice — no marketing language, no glossy promises. Just the facts of what we do and how we do it.

Custom Home Builder DNA

Built for Hill Country Dirt

This is the single thing every other competitor can't claim: Turner Custom Pools is built by custom home builders.

I've spent 15+ years building houses, additions, and structural work across Central Texas. That means I understand soil types (limestone, caliche, clay), drainage patterns, seasonal ground movement, and what it takes for a concrete structure to hold up under a real Texas climate.

Most pool companies have never built anything that needs a foundation thicker than a pool shell. They know pools. I know how structures built for people hold up — and I bring that to pools.

The result: thicker shells where the soil demands it. Smarter steel layouts. Plumbing designed for 30 years, not the warranty period. Design shaped by your actual lot, not a catalog template.

Meet the Owners

Two names. One standard.

When you hire Turner Custom Pools, you get the two people whose names are on it — not a sales team and a rotating crew.

Owner & Builder

Coy Turner

Coy came to pools from custom home building — 15+ years in custom construction, where a bad foundation or a blown schedule is a liability, not an oops. That’s the standard he brings to every pool shell.

He runs every jobsite himself. Born and raised in Seguin. And when you call, he answers his own phone.

Co-Owner & Operations

Ryan Johnson

Ryan spent his career in construction technology — at Procore and other industry-leading construction software companies, building the tools that keep builders organized and on schedule.

He brings that same systems discipline to the back office at Turner: scheduling, pricing, and the numbers that keep the whole operation running smoothly. It’s how a small shop stays tight without ever losing a detail.

Not Volume Tactics

Custom-Home Standards, Not Volume Tactics

Here’s what that actually means for you:

01

We Plan Before We Dig

Your pool design is locked, permits submitted, materials ordered, and crews scheduled before the first shovel touches your yard. Most pool companies figure most of this out as the project unfolds — which is why their builds drag into 12-16 weeks.

02

One Point of Contact

Coy is the builder, the project manager, and the phone number you call. You don't navigate a sales floor. You don't end up talking to a project manager who started the job two weeks ago.

03

Every Pool Is Custom

No stock shapes. No 'we have this design and it works for most yards.' Every pool gets designed for the specific lot, the specific family, the specific backyard.

Real Timelines

8-Week Build vs. Industry 12-16 Weeks

This is Turner’s biggest differentiator, and it’s backed by real project timelines. The 8-week build works because the planning happens before the building starts.

1

Design Lock

Week 2 — everything is designed and approved before earth moves.

2

Permits Submitted

Week 3 — city approvals start before excavation.

3

Materials Ordered

Week 3 — gunite, rebar, plumbing, tile, coping — all on order. Nothing sits because a part hasn't arrived.

4

Crews Scheduled

Week 3 — excavation, steel, plumbing, electrical, gunite — all crews have the dates booked.

5

Build

Weeks 4-6 — the heavy work moves fast because every decision was made before it started.

6

Finish

Weeks 7-8 — decking, tile, equipment, startup. Water in the pool.

The result: water in the pool in 8 weeks, not 4 or 6 months.

Honest Boundaries

What We Don't Do

01

We Don't Sell Fiberglass

It's not the right structural choice for Hill Country soil. Period. We could sell you a fiberglass pool faster (the mold goes in, you fill it, done). But it cracks under ground movement, and that cracks your investment. I won't do that.

02

We Don't Do 50 Pools a Year

I build 2-3 pools at a time. That means your project doesn't get buried in a queue. I finish yours.

03

We Don't Hand Your Build to Strangers

The crews on your pool — excavation, steel, plumbing, gunite — are the same guys Coy has worked with for years, and Coy runs the site himself. Nothing gets passed to a crew we've never built with or a project manager you've never met.

Our Commitment

What We Do Do

01

We Build Complete Backyards

A pool is one piece. The deck, the outdoor kitchen, the fire pit, the lighting, the hardscaping — all of it is part of the same project. I design it all to work together, not as a pool company that drops a hole and walks away.

02

We Stay on Site

Coy is present most days during the build. You'll see me checking dimensions, reviewing the alignment of the coping, making sure the plumbing aligns with the plan. Problems are caught before they happen, not after.

03

We Keep Our Word

If I say it'll be there Tuesday, it's there Tuesday. If I say the design will be ready Wednesday, you have it Wednesday. These aren't marketing claims — they're the baseline expectation I've spent 15 years building a reputation on.

Proven Results

The Track Record

Turner Custom Pools is built on Coy’s 15+ years of custom home building. That experience is the foundation this company sits on. Same builder. Same standards. Same principles.

This isn’t a company built from a pool sales playbook. It’s a custom home builder who saw a broken pool market and decided to fix it from the ground up.

Where It Starts

The Conversation

Start at the beginning, which is a conversation. Not a sales presentation. Not a walk-through of pool shapes. Just talk about your yard, your family, and what you want this space to be.

From there: design. Planning. Build. Swimming.
